Consumption of Clay Plaster

The average consumption of clay plaster is approximately 1 kg per m². The consumption depends on the prepared substrate and the thickness of the applied layer (an 8 kg bucket covers approximately 8 m²). The measured values are provided under standard conditions; for uneven surfaces, it is recommended to order more material.

The package includes:

  • Primer to enhance plaster adhesion and increase mechanical durability.
  • Aromatic herbs that purify the air and have anti-allergic properties.
  • Final beeswax to enhance the durability and aesthetics of the clay plaster.

Necessary tools for clay plaster:

To apply clay plaster, you only need a Venetian trowel and a paintbrush.

Surface Preparation and Primer Application

Clay plaster can be applied to any absorbent surface (old plaster, drywall, stucco, lost formwork, old concrete, etc.). Do not apply concrete plaster on frozen, wet, heavily sunlit substrates, or during fog or rain. The surrounding temperature should be 5-20°C.

Clean the prepared surface of grease and dirt. Fill larger cracks or irregularities with mortar or adhesive. Minor irregularities will be covered during the application of clay plaster.

Mix the primer and apply it to the prepared and cleaned surface using a paintbrush. Let it dry for approximately 2 hours.

Preparation of the Clay plaster:

Mix the clay plaster with the appropriate amount of water. For 8 kg: 2.24 liters of water. Mix thoroughly. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, then mix again before application.

For pigmented plaster, mix the pigment with water first, then combine the pigmented water with the clay plaster. Mix thoroughly. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, then mix again before application. When working on larger areas, it is recommended to mix the appropriate amounts of water, plaster, and pigment in a larger container.

Applying Clay Plaster:

Apply a layer of clay plaster to the prepared surface using a Venetian trowel.

The layer should be a maximum of 1–2 mm thick. Allow the clay plaster to dry for approximately 3–6 hours.

Application of the final beeswax:

The final beeswax increases the lifespan and durability of the clay plaster. Stir the wax and apply it using a paintbrush.

Our clay plaster package includes a base primer (0.8 l) and final beeswax (0.8 l) along with herbs. All necessary products are provided in sufficient quantities.
